This guide covers Loop Dungeon - Incremental on Steam (app 4621970) and its free Steam Demo (appid 4744780). Rules come from Playsect’s Loop Dungeon - Incremental — Release Date Announcement! (2026-09-13). For launch-day crashes, see failed to load il2cpp; for price and platform facts, see system requirements.
What happens to demo saves before version 0.9.0?
Playsect states that demo versions before 0.9.0 cannot be directly transferred to the full game because the project changed substantially during development.
When an old demo save is detected, the full game runs a one-time migration that grants resource compensation based on your old demo progress. You then choose once:
- Claim the compensation and start a new game, or
- Skip the compensation and start a completely new game
Playsect explicitly says this choice will only appear once. They do not publish exact compensation tables in that announcement—we do not invent amounts here.
What happens if my demo is 0.9.0 or later?
If you are on Demo version 0.9.0 or later, Playsect says your save can be fully transferred to the full game.
On first launch of the paid app, the game automatically checks for a save from a compatible demo version. If one exists, you get a one-time choice:
- Transfer your full demo progress, or
- Start a new game
Choosing transfer means demo progress carries over completely. After that one-time transfer, continuing to play the demo does not affect your full-game save.
Playsect confirmed on Steam (2026-10-20 capture):
Yes, when you first launch the full game, you can choose whether to carry over your demo save data.— 16 Oct 2026 @ 4:15:47 pm PDT (save file carry over?)Save carry over supports only Windows System by now. I'll make an update for Linux asap. (But Idk when, cause I've got some crash issues to fix now)— 19 Oct 2026 @ 6:17:02 am PDT (same thread)

How to read the v0.9.0 label on the main menu
An official Steam store screenshot shows the main menu with v0.9.0 in the bottom-right corner, above Continue / New Game / Quit. Use that label to see whether you meet the “0.9.0 and later” path before launch day.

What is the “This skill is locked, get the full version” message?
Steam discussions include a thread titled "This skill is locked, get the full version" after prestiging with a demo save in full version (player report).
Playsect replied (19 Oct 2026 @ 8:12:29 am PDT):
Sorry for the bug, fixed in new version(updating).
That confirms a bug and says a new version addresses it, but Playsect gave no version number and did not define which saves or platforms are affected. We have not playtested this ourselves; whether your installed build already includes the fix is Not verified yet.
For prestige milestones (not bug status), see achievements (global Reborn unlock rate).
Quick comparison table
| Demo version | Direct full save import? | One-time prompt |
|---|---|---|
| Before 0.9.0 | No — compensation instead | Claim compensation + new game or skip compensation + fresh start |
| 0.9.0+ | Yes — full transfer offered | Transfer your full demo progress or Start a new game |
Early playtest builds (May 2026) were a separate branch: Playsect said playtest save data would not carry over—that is not the same as the public Steam Demo rules above. See patch notes for the timeline.
